Which accessories brand will be your bestseller for spring 14?

Industry insiders share their thoughts.

This season we’ve had great success with Meli Melo’s Thela bags, which come in several colours from electric blue to cream, the favourite so far being the taupe (far right). Another popular brand has been Frends, for its Oil Slick headphones (right). These are the ultimate fashion accessory for music lovers.

The must-have accessory for spring 14 on Avenue 32 has got to be the luxe backpack. The backpack has been given an update by brands such as Jérôme Dreyfuss, 3.1 Phillip Lim and Britain’s Meli Melo. Phillip Lim has reinvented its best-selling Pashli satchel into what we call the ‘Pashpack’ (above), which is great for working women or men. Meli Melo’s Thela backpack is also selling out in black and electric blue.

Areas we’ve focused on are underwear, belts and caps. The biggest growth is in socks - this has been the winner of the season for us, along with belts, as an add-on purchase to our denim. The key brands are New Era, Calvin Klein, Diesel (above), Emporio
Armani and Firetrap (above left).
