Industry insiders share their thoughts.
In New York, I will go to Liberty, Capsule and Agenda. They all have a broad mix of brands that are so relevant right now. With streetwear still strong, Agenda is especially important to attend. In Berlin I’ll go to Seek, which is great for emerging young talent. Topman looks to support up-and-coming brands and designers and Seek is a great place to showcase these.
Over the past three years, menswear show Pitti Uomo has become very important to us.
We wanted to offer more smart fashion elements and Pitti covers these very well. Second up will be Paris, where we’ll attend Capsule and Man. We already deal with a lot of brands there and it can be a good place to find something new. We’ll also be going to Jacket Required, which has become my favourite show by far. Not only do great brands exhibit there but it’s also a fantastic chance to meet the British industry under one roof.
I plan to visit UK shows Scoop, Pure and London Fashion Week. Internationally it will then be a decision between Who’s Next in Paris, Gallery in Copenhagen or Premium in Berlin. Our budget will only allow one overseas show, so I need to choose wisely. I’ll be looking for new brands that offer something different and a good margin.
For spring 15, the shows I’m most looking forward to are Gallery in Copenhagen, Capsule and Coterie in New York and Woman in Paris. They all have a consistently relevant brand mix and I can balance appointments with people I already work with and the opportunity to make new contacts. We will also visit Paris shows Tranoï, Who’s Next, Capsule and Woman as well as Magic in Las Vegas, Scoop in London, and Bread & Butter, Premium and Seek in Berlin.
