Red Dog sets out ambitious growth plans

Handbag and accessories brand Red Dog is hoping to quadruple its stockist numbers over the next year following a trial period on

The brand, which was founded in 2009 and specialises in leather handbags, iPhone cases and its iconic “bag pod” organisers, is currently sold in around 100 stockists in the UK and Europe.

Owner and founder Marianne Sparrenius-Waters is looking to up that to 500 by the end of the year, after John Lewisbegan selling two styles of Red Dog’s bag pod in December.

“Now we are online with John Lewis it should help other bigger stockists to become aware of what we do,” said Sparrenius-Waters.

Red Dog will target the airline and travel industry for autumn 13 in particular. The business is also developing new product categories, such as leather belts and premium handbag styles for autumn 13, which will be unveiled at giftware tradeshow Top Drawer next week.

Wholesale prices for Red Dog range from £8.50 to £89.95.
