What the fashion industry needs for 2017

I agree with the points mentioned and happy to see that the discounting and full-price sales challenge is NUMBER 1. It should be as indies dedicate 45 to 55% of their NET SALES to the cost of goods sold. So they must understand, manage and control how much discounts they give away. It is after all the biggest THIEF in the store. Few retailers know in value how much discounts they give away yet it takes 2mn to calculate if you just give me 2 numbers (initial mark up and gross profit). The proof I have is when I speak to UK clients or prospects as well as when I act as retail expert at whos next & working with around 100 retailers! Now, we need to set up the action plan to reduce discounts and looking forward to bringing valuable content and training if necessary. HAPPY NEW YEAR Thierry Bayle
