Businesses warn on no-deal Brexit

An independent UK with freedom to negotiate trade deals is perfectly achievable within the terms of the withdrawal agreement. What anon1 and many seem to be forgetting is that the withdrawal agreement is the start of the negotiation process. At that point we will be able to start to negotiate other deals,. The relationship with the EU has taken over 40 years to put together, so to think it can all be unravelled in a couple of years without causing quite large-scale disruption to some sectors is foolish. A carefully planned and managed distancing of the UK from the EU has to be a better option, even for the hardliners. What have they got to lose? They risk alternatives of another vote or the whole thing being called off - petulant, childish madness.
