Sir Ian Cheshire steps down as Debenhams chairman

Debenhams needed someone who can give them their sole attention, but Cheshire had too many fingers in too many pies and falls into the 'Knows a lot, but a lot of nothing' category of which there are many. There are few stores that work their space worse than Debenhams and it is inevitable that administration beckons in one form or another. They desperately need somebody who 100% Debenhams, 100% of the time to turn it around, but things will get worse before that can happen.
