Price rises 'inevitable' in the event of a no-deal Brexit

Prices need to rise whether there is any adverse reaction to leaving the EU or not. Stating that consumers won't pay any more is complete folly. When we had the crash in 2008, did people start buying into cheaper goods? Generally no. They bought less, but bought well and many Indies continued to trade up. That ethos needs to continue and suppliers and retailers make and buy far too much product, which is completely unnecessary as there is less demand than supply. Suppliers need to put their prices up and retail needs to do likewise. No excuses. Both parties may be pleasantly surprised by the results.
