The store offers something for everyone but the Shoe Boudoir area is where the best styles are
Standout product comes from brand Miss KG, alongside a smattering of great value options from own brand Red Herring and some hit and miss styles from Faith. Gold-tipped ballet shoes are sweet in black satin and a leopard-print wedge - a staple this season - is strong, as are Debenhams’ wedges with espadrille-style soles and ties. A Sale at own brand Red Herring serves up a hiking-influenced wedge boot, while at Faith a painterly print, slingback court with black beaded embellishment is a triumph.
The best thing about this vast footwear department is the Shoe Boudoir area, which hosts a selection of Miss KG styles. It has a luxurious velvet couch and gilded mirror, which make the rival departments occupied by Faith and Red Herring look tired. The various branded areas need better signage to differentiate them from each other. The footwear department itself is hard to find due to a lack of signage throughout this large store but, once there, the department is clean and the staff attentive.
There is something for every customer here, from the marked-down, fashion-forward ranges at Red Herring and Faith to the more sophisticated offerings at Miss KG and Nine West. Chunky lace-up shoe boots in black suede push the exit price to the limit at Miss KG at £110, and the simple leopard-print wedge seems pricey at £65, as there are so many cheaper options on the high street. Taupe sky-high platforms with sole-edge embellishment come in at £80.
