1970s trends drive My-Wardrobe sales

Premium etailer My-Wardrobe said block colours and 1970s-inspired styles, including wide-leg trousers, T-shirts and platform shoes, helped drive sales growth of 96% for the year to May 31.

The etailer, which sells brands such as Anya Hindmarch, Joseph and See by Chloé, also posted a 118% rise in European sales in the first quarter of this calendar year.

My-Wardrobe relaunched its womenswear site at the end of February and plans to relaunch its menswear site for spring 2012. It will also invest heavily in above-the-line marketing over the next year, including a print media campaign with Harper’s Bazaar, Esquire, Vogue and Grazia. It is also considering launching a TV campaign.
