Stefan Hull looks at the month of April 2012 and highlights the key changes that impacted the online fashion world.

  • The Penguin is released! After months of speculation Google finally rolls out their ‘Penguin Update’, penalising sites using old school SEO techniques and paving the way for more authentic search strategies
  • Klout, popular with fashion influencers, launches an iPhone app allowing users to track their Klout score and keep an eye on other influencers whilst on the go
  • Christian Louboutin launches its European website. For the first time ever, British shoppers are  able to buy the French cobbler’s signature red soled designs directly from the brand’s online boutique
  • Vogue.com and GQ.com collaborate with Spotify by launching a new play button onsite, which allows readers to stream the biggest new releases and create bespoke playlists
