Asos chief information officer Pete Marsden has left the etailer after almost two years with the company.
It is thought that Asos has yet to replace Marsden, who is believed to have left about two weeks ago. It is unclear whether Marsden left with a job to go to.
Marsden joined Asos in October 2012 from the Royal Bank of Scotland, where he was head of development. Marsden had also clocked up senior technology roles at BBC Worldwide, Egg and First Direct.
News of Marsden’s departure comes a day after Asos was the source of unconfirmed reports that a US company - Ebay and Amazon were among the names mentioned - was eyeing up the etailer, helping shares shoot up 17% yesterday. Reports said that a US buyer was believed to have approached Danish fashion house Bestseller, which owns a 27.4% stake in Asos.
Asos was unavailable for comment.
