Asos international director to leave

Asos international director Jon Kamaluddin is leaving after nine years at the etailer.

Kamaluddin will leave the business and step down from the board in October this year.

The process of finding a replacement is already underway and the etailer said it hoped to complete a smooth handover.

Asos chief executive Nick Robertson said: “Jon has played a significant role in the development of Asos over the last nine years, formerly as finance director and latterly as international director.

“Personally and on behalf of all of us at Asos I want to thank him for his outstanding contribution to our success and wish him well in the future.”

Kamaluddin joined Asos in 2004 as finance director before being promoted to international director in 2009.

Prior to working at the young fashion etailer Kamaluddin was finance manager at Marks & Spencer.

International revenues are becoming ever more central to Asos’ growth strategy.

In the three months to February 28 international sales jumped 45% to £110.9m, now making up 59% of total sales compared with 57% the same period last year.

Asos is planning to launch local language sites in China and Russia this autumn.
