Bestseller increases its stake in Asos

Danish brands house Bestseller has increased its stake in etailer Asos.

The small increase, made on Tuesday, took the danish group’s holdings over the 17% mark.

Bestseller, which owns brands including Jack & Jones and Vero Moda, has increased its share in Asos over recent months prompting speculation that it may attempt a takeover, a claim the retailer has previously rejected.

In its last update Asos reported its pre-tax profits were up 59% to £7m in the six months to September 30.
