Gucci has launched a mobile-optimised site in response to growing demand for mobile access to the luxury label’s products.
Gucci.com is now available for mobile devices in Europe and North America, and will launch in the Asia Pacific region this spring. Gucci said the move reflected the growing use of mobile devices by luxury consumers as well as its increasing investment in digital marketing and e-commerce.
Since the site launched in the US in December, conversion rates via mobile phones have increased by more than 70% with revenues growing by more than four times the amount seen this time last year.
Gucci president and chief executive officer Patrizio di Marco said: “Gucci has always prided itself on providing customers with unparalleled shopping experiences, whether in our stores or online. Based on the rapid growth we have seen in mobile purchases it was important for us to create the kind of luxury experience in mobile that we are known for in the industry and that our customers expect from us.”
