Mr Porter appoints senior buyer from Harvey Nichols

Luxury etailer Net-a-Porter has appointed Terry Betts as senior buyer for its forthcoming menswear site, Mr Porter.

Betts has joined from department store chain Harvey Nichols, where he was menswear buyer for international designers and accessories. He is also a member of the British Fashion Council’s menswear panel.

He will report into buying director Toby Bateman.

Earlier this month Net-a-Porter announced a string of new hires for Mr Porter, including Jodie Harrison, the executive style and grooming editor for GQ as editor of the standalone website’s weekly magazine and Dan May, currently executive fashion director for 10 Magazine, as style director.

Mr Porter is due to launch in early 2011 and will offer a range of menswear from global luxury labels and niche specialist brands, alongside editorial and style advice.
