Etailer Spartoo moves into clothing after multi-million investment

Footwear etailer Spartoo has ploughed “several million euros” into clothing following last year’s £20m boost to its coffers from existing investors

The online retailer has introduced men’s and womenswear from more than 100 brands to its expanded operation, which will go live from mid-March.

It will now stock a range of product categories including jackets, dresses, T-shirts and jeans.

Brands include Diesel, G-Star, Gant, Puma, Esprit, Vero Moda and Joseph.

Chief executive Boris Saragaglia said: “Even if the heart of what we do is all about shoes, diversifying allows us to attract new customers and loyalise our current customers.”

Saragaglia hopes to “make great profits” by moving into the much larger clothing market, predicting that in three years it could make up a “significant part” of Spartoo’s turnover.

The business secured €25m (£20.4m) funding last October.
