One of French Connection’s best seasons to date at the right price.
This is the best Drapers has seen from French Connection in some seasons. The 1970s trend is catered for with a pleated maxi dress with crocheted neckline and an embroidered silk tunic. Spring 11’s below-the-knee length is seen on pretty dresses. A muted palette contrasts with bold orange and floral prints. A long-sleeved lace dress in white stands out.
Staff offered to assist Drapers and take items into the changing rooms - which are small, but tidy - while Drapers continued to shop. At the front of the store, items are merchandised into outfits across two rails, with the rest of the product split into trend stories or product categories. Signs for a 10% discount are displayed and the store is an all-round pleasant place to shop in.
French Connection offers a good range of prices across its collection, coming in cheaper than the likes of Reiss and Ted Baker. Rolled-up chinos and a 1970s-inspired jersey dress with floral prints are both excellent value at £47, while basic T-shirts and jerseys start from about £27. An embroidered silk tunic retails for £135 and a pleated, belted dress is well priced at £125. The lace dress might be a touch too expensive at £165, but the level of detail just about justifies it.
