Hit or miss: Dune - 8/10

Pros

The friendliest staff and best-looking shopfit of the day await us at this store. The chain’s most recent Catwalk shopfit has shoes attached to the ceiling running down the length of the unit, with men’s footwear located at the front of this corner store. Leather brogues are similar in price and quality to those at Clarks for £95. Women’s black strappy leather sandals are £65, slightly more than Schuh’s version at £60, but Dune’s are better quality. Leather ankle boots at £129 are of comparable quality but much cheaper than LK Bennett’s version at £175. The store smells fresh and clean and has a good flow to it. Large orange benches in the middle of the space provide plenty of seating and product is neatly displayed.

Cons

Although the collection is good, some of the styles are no better than less expensive products in Topshop and New Look. Men’s lace-up leather boots at Dune are £110, while styles of a similar quality are cheaper elsewhere, with Clarks’ version at £100 and River Island’s at £90.
