Hit or miss: Foot Locker - 7/10

  • 109 Oxford Street

Pros

It is no surprise that sportswear and trainers are the name of the game at Foot Locker, and the retailer stands out from rival stores with the
number of exclusive styles it stocks. There are exclusive Timberland camouflage boots at £109, leopard-print and lace women’s Vans for £55 and suede cobalt blue Nike Air Max trainers for £95.

Like many other stores, Foot Locker divides the store by gender with women’s footwear occupying the right-hand side and men’s on the left, making it simple for shoppers to navigate. The store is slick and tidy, with the monochrome shopfit holding its own against rivals Size? and Footasylum. The staff on the shop floor were friendly, and there are plenty of seats for shoppers to try product on. The windows are colourful and feature big campaign shots, which appeals to the retailer’s target shopper.

Cons

The store is quite small and feels too crammed with product.
