Hit or Miss: H&M - 8/10

Westfield London, first floor, unit 14

H and M

Pros

H&M’s windows do a good job of illustrating this season’s sporty and 1970s trends. These are also prominently displayed on mannequins in store, with 1970s dominating the front and the sporty trend positioned further back near the younger Divided range. With flared jeans for £24.99, a boho handkerchief dress at £14.99 and fake suede shorts for £7.99, H&M allows customers to buy into spring’s biggest trend on a budget. There is a strong range of basics priced competitively: cotton knitted cardigans are £12.99, T-shirts £4.99 and vest tops £1.99. The large store is tidy and the layout is well organised and easy to browse. A large workwear section offers impressive value for money, with shirts for £12.99 and a lined polyester-viscose blend blazer at £24.99.

Cons

There are scarcely any staff on the shop floor. Most sizes on the rails seem to be between six and 12, which could be alienating for some shoppers.
