Hit or Miss: Hobbs - 6/10

Westfield London, ground floor, unit 115

Hobbs

Pros

Hobbs is another contender for the best window award, with a cheerful display featuring handmade origami flowers in white and yellow. This use of spring colour continues in store. After discontinuing its younger NW3 collection at the end of last year, Hobbs has focused its energies back onto its traditional older customer. However, there are still some pieces, such as a white dress with neon embroidery, that might appeal to the more fashion-forward shopper. Similar in style to the embroidered dress at French Connection, it has a slightly more expensive price point at £149, although it is lined and the quality feels better. Signs around the store flag up key items, such as a Breton top, and give helpful advice on different ways to wear it.

Cons

Although this particular Hobbs store is not small, it feels cramped and difficult to navigate, with too many rails and displays. The fitting rooms are also a bit grubby and could benefit from a fresh lick of paint.
