Hit or Miss: Kurt Geiger 4/10

The Village, first floor, unit 8

Kurt Geiger

Pros The shop is large and spacious, making it easy for shoppers to view product and navigate around. There is a large selection of women’s shoes covering styles from a casual flat flip-flop to a dressy embellished sandal, providing plenty of choice. The chrome and mirrored glass ‘wall of shoes’ display at the entrance is eye-catching and slick, displaying all the season’s essential styles.

Cons Kurt Geiger is quite expensive compared with retailers offering products of a similar quality. Men’s leather brogues are £120, £20 more expensive than Aldo, while leather boat shoes are £85, £10 pricier than Aldo’s version. Similarly, in women’s, chunky block heel sandals that are not leather are £65, the same price as Aldo’s leather version. The men’s section is small and doesn’t offer a great deal of variety. Staff do not approach customers or greet them when they enter.
