Hit or miss: LK Bennett - 5/10

  • 31 Brook Street

LK Bennett AW14

Pros

A gold mesh chandelier hanging in the window reflects the sense of luxury in LK Bennett’s Brook Street branch. Suspended glass shelves continue the theme inside the bright and airy store. The footwear offer covers all the main styles of the season from shoe boots (£175) to Kate Middleton’s favourite court shoes (£195) to knee-length boots that are of a similar quality and design to those at Russell & Bromley but almost £100 cheaper (£275). The store also displays some trend-led products, as well as the classic styles the retailer is known for. Jewel-coloured stilettos and metal-studded pumps add a pop of excitement to the range.

Cons

The footwear offer is the smallest of the stores visited and the product is expensive in comparison to shoes of a similar quality elsewhere. For example, pointed-toe stiletto-heel boots in LK Bennett are £175, while in Dune they are £129. The two members of staff on the shop floor during the visit were not helpful and I was not approached by either of them, despite being the only customer in store at the time.
