Continues to deliver great value for its younger customers while keeping pace with trends.
- Lower Peel Avenue
This small store manages to get the balance right between basics and trend-led pieces, helpfully separated into clearly defined areas. Monochrome dominates one side of the store, with smart separates such as blouses looking particularly strong. On the opposite side, Aztec prints decorate the more casual offering. The centre is occupied by the Label Lounge, where own brands such as Tokyo Doll and Cameo Rose provide party dresses. A wide range of basics at the back of the store, including denim in an assortment of
styles, round off the small but well-structured offer.
New Look’s jersey basics are some of the best value on the high street, with reasonably good quality tops starting at the bargain price of two for £8. Denim starts at £9.99, while knits range from £14.99 to £19.99. Workwear is priced competitively, with a lovely, fully lined deconstructed navy blazer at £24.99. Party dresses are perhaps the store’s strongest offering, with a cute floral dress with mesh overlay and full skirt for just £24.99 - ideally priced for younger shoppers.
The store feels like a real lesson in how to work effectively within a small space. Sale rails are marked with blue signs rather than the usual garish red, making them less overbearing, and at least two sales assistants were on hand to tidy the shop floor. All tills were staffed, keeping the flow of customers moving on a crowded Sunday morning, and signs saying ‘I’m new this week’ advertised fresh additions to the offer. Most impressively, almost every rail was filled with a comprehensive range of sizes.
