This is the nicest shopping environment of the day, hands down. The third floor is dedicated to footwear and is bright, spacious and easy to navigate. The product is segmented with dressy sandals grouped together in one area and boots in another. It is very tidy and the temperature of the store is just right. The price architecture is great, with pumps starting at £7.99 going up to leather cut-out ankle boots with buckle detail for £70. Brightly coloured court shoes are around £20, which is great for the target younger shopper. Shoes are dotted around the store and merchandised on tables with co-ordinating bags and scarves, making it easy for consumers to put looks together. There is a large seating area to try on shoes, and the staff were helpful, opening another till when there were three customers queuing to pay.
The second floor of the store is closed for renovation and shoppers can hear drilling behind the hoarding. There isn’t a dedicated member of staff for the footwear section, but as all sizes are displayed on the shelves this isn’t much of a problem.
