Hit or Miss: Reiss - 8/10

Westfield London, ground floor, unit 29

Reiss

Pros

With lots of glass and mirrored surfaces, Reiss looks modern, sleek and appealing from the outside. Inside, the store is well laid out, easy to navigate and product is nicely displayed. Occasionwear and workwear are strongest here, with key pieces including a pale pink viscose double-breasted coat (£245) and a silk flowery dress (£195) that tick the floral and pastel trend boxes. Prices are in line with those at Ted Baker, but the quality is better and the collection has a grown-up feel more befitting of higher price points. Sales staff are friendly and I am greeted and offered assistance almost straight away. In the fitting rooms, a sales assistant remains on hand to see if I need another size and provides helpful and sincere advice. She then obligingly puts the item on hold for me until the next day.

Cons

While pricing generally seems fair, some pieces are overpriced. A sheer polyester shirt at £110 is a little flimsy. There are few items available for under £50. Even a scoop-neck jersey T-shirt is £59.
