Hit or miss: Warehouse - 6/10

  • 19-21 Argyll Street

WAREHOUSE AW14

Pros

Some of the most interesting product is to be found at Warehouse. There is an emphasis on the textural trend, including a fake fur coat with different-coloured panels, fuzzy top-and-skirt combinations and brushed woolly tartan culottes. A real leather pencil dress is available in two lengths, priced £120 for the longer, while a shorter, fake leather version is £48, making for good pricing architecture. Basic silky blouses have details such as cut-outs at the neckline, while the orange colour trend seen elsewhere comes in a bolder, almost red, shade for a point of difference. The downstairs area is well spaced, with plenty of mannequins showing key items, and staff are friendly.

Cons

None of the autumn collection is seen on the ground floor of the store, which is entirely in Sale. Any visual merchandising details have been stripped out, leaving rows of rails cluttered together, making it look like an outlet store. No signs flag up the new season range, which is hidden downstairs.
