New agent kicks off Saint Tropez push

Danish womenswear brand Saint Tropez is set to grow its presence in the UK market as new agent Concept Fashion Agency looks to increase its stockist base by more than 25%.

From September 2, Concept, which also acts for short-order young fashion brand Little Mistress and Danish young fashion brand Ichi, became the agent for Saint Tropez, taking over from IC Companys. Concept will now handle all sales, operational issues and customer service in the UK and Republic of Ireland.

Managing director Mark Ashton said the brand had “immense potential”, particularly in the north of the UK.

He said there was previously no showroom or branding presence; after just two days representing the brand Concept had opened six new accounts. Saint Tropez has 120 UK stockists.

“We would hope to increase the current customer base by 25%-plus and also increase brand awareness via our strong showroom presence in London’s West End [Great Portland Street] and Manchester [Newton Street],” Ashton said.

He added: “London has many little pocket areas that haven’t been touched and we know many accounts that Saint Tropez would be perfect for.

“We’re quietly confident that we can build a healthy business quite quickly.

In a move to boost the brand’s customer base, Concept has bolstered its sales team. Janet Scantlebury, former UK sales manager at US denim brand Guess, has joined as south sales executive.

Concept has also poached Faye Oakes, former sales representative at young fashion brand Firetrap, who is now north sales executive.

Saint Tropez is launching a new denim line, The Perfect Fit, for spring 12.
