Without doubt family-run Browns is one of the jewels in the crown of independent retailers in London. It has been offering an alternative to Selfridges and the many luxury stores that line neighbouring Bond Street for the past 43 years.

The past 12 months have been a busy time for Browns.

It relocated its womenswear store to London’s Sloane Street, hosted a pop-up for Japanese menswear brand Miharayasuhiro at its menswear store and signed up to independent ecommerce portal Farfetch.com.

For chief executive Simon Burstein, the appeal of Browns is clear: “Whether it is a personal in-store stylist or a stylist visiting your hotel room, we always strive for the best service. We are also very proud of our unique buy and finding new and promising talents.”
