012. Darkroom

52 Lamb’s Conduit Street, London, WC1

Who you need to know Owners Rhonda Drakeford and Lulu Roper-Caldbeck

Brands include Anglo Leather, Eleanor Bolton, Fleet Ilya, Florian, Henriette Lofstrom, Lizzy Disney, Marwood, Michelle Lowe-Holder

Quirky London indie Darkroom offers a shopping experience with a difference, mixing interiors with accessories.

It serves up labels from little-known and emerging designers, often merchandised all together.

The store attracts customers by collaborating on its windows with the likes of Nigerian artist Buki Akib and artist Camile Walala.

In the past year, Darkroom invested in the re-launch of its transactional website in November, which co-owner Rhonda Drakeford describes as “the area with potential for the most growth”, and a series of pop-ups including at The Groucho Club and The Barbican.

In 2013, Darkroom will launch a design consultancy for the interiors market.
