077. Number Eight

8A King Street, Stirling, Scotland

Who you need to know Owners Keith Ewing and Margaret McKay

Brands include Barbour, Farah Vintage, Gant, Hilfiger Denim, Hugo Boss, Lyle and Scott, Ralph Lauren, Ted Baker

Owner Keith Ewing believes designer indie Number Eight is one of the most distinctive stores in the UK, with positive reviews from suppliers and customers who come back time and time again.

And he might just be right. In the three years since the store was opened, it was shortlisted as Best New Business at the Drapers Fashion Awards for two years running, and last year made it into the Menswear Retailer of the Year category.

In the past 12 months, Number Eight has invested heavily in its website and is moving in a more premium direction with the addition of Ralph Lauren and Hugo Boss.

In 2013, the indie is looking to add Paul Smith to the mix, and plans to boost online sales.
