18 Bernard Boutique

4-8 High Street, Esher, Surrey

Who you need to know Owners Helene and Barry Rapaport and store director Nikki Rapaport

Brands include Acne, Alexander McQueen, Opening Ceremony, Stella McCartney

The past year heralded one of the most significant in Bernard Boutique’s 35-year history. Store director Nikki Rapaport, daughter of owners Helene and Barry and who joined the womenswear indie in October 2010 from premium brand Nicole Farhi, helped to drive an overhaul of the store.

The revamp included a slight name change and an updating of its brands with new labels including Helmut Lang, Lucy in Disguise and Roland Mouret.

Noticing a change in the way customers shop, Bernard Boutique has introduced less expensive brands to the store during the past year. Nikki Rapaport says the move “allows our customers to shop with confidence due to the more acceptable price points”.
