Brands include APC, Folk, Fred Perry, F-Troupe, Grenson, Henrik Vibskov, Pointer, Sessun, Supra, YMC

Located behind Princes Street, Edinburgh, the owners of contemporary indie Goodstead search trade shows including Gallery in Copenhagen to bring customers a variety of under-the-radar names such as Sixpack as well as British classics including Fred Perry and Grenson.

Co-owner Graham Blakey puts the success down to their approach to buying. “We try to focus on product design as much as possible rather than selecting brands through influence of other stores or immediate financial gain,” he says.

In 2011, Goodstead brought in womenswear buyer Nikki Kent, who has introduced new labels including Henrik Vibskov.
