Occasionwear brand Ispirato is axing all future autumn collections due to a lack of demand for party dresses during the winter months.
Instead, it will launch a “second summer” collection that will be delivered from April next year.
Head of sales and marketing Annie Gowanloch said: “We did have a really beautiful autumn collection. However, stockists have found that people just aren’t buying dresses for Christmas parties any more.” Autumn 11 will be the brand’s final winter collection.
She added: “This change is about giving customers what they want. We are making our collections more trans-seasonal.”
Gowanloch said there was an increase in consumer demand for new wedding outfits: “People can buy great little black dresses on the high street or recycle what they’ve already got. When it comes to weddings though, people are always keen to invest in something new.”
Ispirato will begin delivering its spring 12 collection from the end of December and will then deliver the second summer collection, which will consist of about 30 pieces, from April.
