Badger Clothing in Brighton, East Sussex

Chosen by Laurence Morse, UK sales director of young fashion brand Ben Sherman

I’ve been a fan of Badger for more than 15 years. It’s always had a clear identity and a strong grasp of the market it’s trying to appeal to. It’s in The Laines in Brighton and manages to achieve a cool image while remaining down to earth. Staff treat every customer individually, whether they are a local or a summer day tripper.

The store has separate fascias for its menswear and womenswear offers, both of which also stock footwear and accessories. I love the menswear store, which has a mix of surefire classics such as Fred Perry and Hush Puppies and bang-on brands such as Luke and Barbour.

The shopping experience is relaxed but also has an underlying vibrant atmosphere. The staff are always well versed on all the brands and product they sell, as well as the latest trends, which for me remains the recipe for success and longevity for any fashion indie.
