Boudiche administrator confident of finding buyer

The administrators of lingerie indie Boudiche have set a deadline of next Thursday for offers to buy the business, following strong interest this week.

Administrator RSM Tenon said it had received around 20 expressions of interest for Boudiche, which was put into administration on Friday as a result of cash flow problems stemming from the downturn in consumer spending.

RSM Tenon said interested parties included local entrepreneurs and businesses operating within the retail and lingerie sectors.

A deadline of 5pm on June 24 has been set for final offers.

Joint administrator Tom MacLennan said: “The level of interest is very encouraging and reflects our view that the administration presents an excellent opportunity to acquire the brand and assets of a highly regarded business, and to take it forward to the next level of development.”

Boudiche, which has two stores in Edinburgh and Glasgow and a transactional website, was placed in administration by the company’s directors Claire Thommen and Fiona McLean, who founded the business in 2005.

  • They will no doubt find a good buyer. It is so surprising that Boudiche fell in to administration in the first place. It is a great indie. If Boudiche cannot survive the downturn the market must be very tough indeed.
