Bread & Honey in Clerkenwell, east London

Chosen by Callum Lumsden, creative director of retail design agency Lumsden at Small Back Room

Bread & Honey is a designer menswear and womenswear indie run by a couple of French guys and is good because every time you go in there, there’s something different.

When you do visit there are styles for all ages. Also, the people running the store are very honest about what works and what doesn’t, which means you won’t end up buying things that make you mutton dressed as lamb.

What’s really interesting is that it’s a place where I can go with my 26-year-old daughter or 21-year-old son and we can all happily shop together, as there are great casual clothes for everybody. There’s also a pleasing restraint in terms of the store fascia, with its dark maroon paint job. It just draws you in.

If you can’t get to the shop, there’s always the website, which makes the offer very clear with its “featured brands” and “items”.
