Darkroom in Bloomsbury, London

Chosen by Aurélie Dumont, UK manager at ethical trainer brand Veja

Lamb’s Conduit Street in Bloomsbury is one of London’s most inspiring locations. Housing locally minded stores, it has preserved a feeling of community spirit in the area. It’s not surprising that close friends Rhonda Drakeford and Lulu Roper-Caldbeck settled into the street to host their conceptual space Darkroom.

We first started our collaboration with Darkroom by launching the Veja Projet Numéro Deux bags collection. Darkroom is a cross between a concept store and an exhibition space and curates an eclectic mix of high-end fashion accessories, jewellery, art pieces and interiors. The store’s fittings are a diverse mix of materials, scales, forms and patterns, while the hand-painted floor completes the striking decor of black and white geometry.

All pieces, often exclusive to Darkroom, are carefully hand-picked by Lulu and Rhonda. Their taste and aptitude for finding the finest pieces has made Darkroom an instant London institution.
