How is trade? Very good. With Easter and the bank holidays it was really busy and for April trade was up 60%. We’ve got it right this season and have four new brands including Motel and Traffic People.

Which products are selling well? Jumpsuits and maxi dresses are strong sellers for women. For men, polos are a winner, with bright colours and stripes selling well.

Which brands are selling well? On menswear, Lyle & Scott, Fred Perry and Pretty Green. Brands with heritage and a story are selling well. For womenswear it’s Rare, Forever Unique and TFNC.

How are online sales faring? We relaunched the website in early March. We beefed up our offer with a wider brand mix and got bigger names on there. We’ve seen a big sales boost, up 30% over the first two to three months. We’re hoping it will be at least 50% [of our turnover] in a year.

How does the weather affect sales? If it’s hot people are more likely to have a day at the beach so you hope for in-between weather.
