Esska targets 50% rise in UK stockists

Young fashion footwear brand Esska wants to increase its UK stockist base by 50% after appointing Yum Yum Shoes as its distributor.

Esska, which was founded in 2006 by Souraya Karami and Dan Gyves, has 24 stockists in the UK for spring 12 and hopes to grow this to 36 for spring 13.

According to joint managing director Gyves, the focus will be on getting the brand stocked in the right retailers.

“We’ll be targeting contemporary footwear independents, as well as some online-only footwear retailers and maybe some national multiples as well,” he said.

Online sales account for 5% of total turnover, and Gyves said Esska would also look to grow that figure to 10% over the next two years.

Esska is stocked in about 200 retail outlets worldwide. UK stockists include contemporary footwear indies Mudfoot & Scruff in Stoke Newington, north London, and Laste in Brighton. Wholesale prices range from £30 to £80.
