Flannels in Nottingham

Chosen by Pete Winkworth, PR and marketing manager for footwear brand Base London.

For me, Flannels really stands out as the flagship indie in the Nottingham retail landscape. It manages to combine classic brands with casual and more directional labels in just the right mix to create a one-stop shop whatever level of formality you are shopping for.

The store is split into three floors, with the ground and first floor housing classic labels such as D&G, Temperley London, Miu Miu and Prada, sectioned off into women’s on the first floor and men’s below. The decor is minimalist with wood floors, spotlights and glass cubicles which enhances an exclusive, designer feel to reflect the brands.

Casualwear is downstairs, and while the shopfit retains a muted glamour with antique wood tables, the brands veer from Ed Hardy and Elvis Jesus through to premium label PRPS.

The staff in this store are great and totally add to the experience. They really know their stuff and are always very knowledgeable about what’s going on in the wider fashion scene.
