Heather Moore

Co-owner of two-store young fashion indie Wild Heart in Bridgnorth and Kidderminster.

Brands include Guess, John Zack, Miss Sixty, Religion, TFNC.

How is trade at the moment?

We’ve had significant interest in our autumn stock so far. Our best-sellers seem to be our fur and sheepskin waistcoats and our military and aviator-style jackets.

Which brands are selling best?

We stock such an array of labels that I’m not too sure if any outsell the others, though I have noticed that stock sourced from suppliers in London, such as Guess, always sell well.

What’s the biggest challenge you face over the coming year?

Trying to stay unique is difficult. Attempting to find new labels to stock and which fit our ethos is a challenge, particularly as we’re trying to set ourselves apart from the high street.

Have you made any recent changes in store?

I’ve cut back on forward orders, choosing instead to buy weekly from various suppliers across the country. So far it’s working better for us as it allows us to keep up with trends and the colours and styles selling well.
