Jeff of Bold Street writes best-seller

Jeff Pearce, the retail entrepreneur who owned Liverpool womenswear indie Jeffs of Bold Street, has become a best-selling author.

His autobiography, A Pocketful of Holes and Dreams (pictured), shot into the top five in the Sunday Times paperback non-fiction chart last Sunday.

He originally self-published the rags-to-riches tale in 2008 but it was published by Penguin’s Michael Joseph imprint on January 20 and has sold 7,600 copies.

Pearce won the Drapers Independent Retailer of the Year Award in 2002.
