Reykjavik is one of my favourite destinations for design inspiration and this multibrand store epitomises the bijou city’s unique sense of style.
The interior hits you first - a huge space decorated in turquoise, yellow and red, with oversized hangers used as displays, mannequins suspended in the windows and art on the walls. The brand mix of womenswear and menswear is unapologetically directional, with edgy Scandinavian names mixed in with more mainstream designer labels. There’s also a great selection of on-trend kidswear, a well-stocked denim area and some unique accessories (it’s one of the few places to stock Henrik Vibskov laptop cases).
But if you really want to rock the local hipster vibe, invest in an item from the store’s own-brand footwear collection, Kron. Designed by the store’s owners, these imaginative heels combine ice-cream and sorbet shades with unique, sculptural shapes.
