Laura Hoggarth

Co-owner of young fashion indie Kit & Kaboodal, which has three stores in Yorkshire

Brands include Fullcircle, Lipsy, Rebekah Murphy, Traffic People, Vila

How is trade?

It’s pretty good at the moment. I think due to the sunny weather everyone seems to be getting more optimistic.

What brands are selling well?

We do really well with Vila and Only.

I think because people love their price points. We also stock some independent local brands including Rebekah Murphy and Kelly Ewing which are doing well.

What product categories are popular?

T-shirts and maxi dresses have been popular over the last two weeks because of the sunny weather. People seem to be stocking up on casual basics too.

What plans do you have for the royal wedding?

We’ll be open for the whole weekend and we’ll have royal wedding window displays. Traffic People has done a Union Jack maxi dress, so we’re going to put that on a mannequin with a Kate Middleton mask.

How are you feeling about the rest of 2011?

Optimistic. We’ve been doing different events, like shopping nights, and we’re trying to keep the buzz going.
