French accessories and womenswear retailer Lollipops is moving into wholesale in the UK for spring 13, and aims to secure about 30 indie stockists for its first season.
Lollipops, which already wholesales in its home market as well as in other European countries including Spain, Russia and Greece, has until now only operated in the UK as a retailer via its standalone stores in London’s Covent Garden and Spitalfields.
The brand, which first added womenswear to its offer for spring 12, has appointed Surrey-based sales agent Veronique Puyo, owner of VP Fashion, to secure stockists for both the accessories and womenswear collections in the UK.
Puyo said for the first season she would mainly target contemporary womenswear indies with both collections, but would not be drawn on names. She added that in future seasons she hoped to secure partnerships with department stores such as Selfridges in order to operate Lollipops concessions or shop-in-shops.
As part of its wholesale push, the brand will exhibit its collection at trade show Pure London on August 19 to 21.
Wholesale prices range from £18 for clutch bags up to £60 for dresses.
