Melanie Trevett

Owner of premium womenswear indie Cristina in Weybridge, Surrey. Brands include Hudson Jeans, Liu Jo, Manoush, St Martins, Taviani

How is trade?
It is on par with last season and slightly up on last year. We have had a great sell-throughs. Which categories and brands are selling best? Maxi dresses are going well, especially right now in the run up to events such as Ascot and prom season. UK label Nocturne has done incredibly well.

What is next for Cristina?
I am planning to travel and bring back obscure brands. If a brand has a reputation over here, it is marketed to everybody - to avoid this I am always willing to take a risk.

Which new brands are you planning to introduce for spring 11?
Penny Black, Saivana and Yoana Baraschi.

Are you making any changes online?
We use our site to provide information on our ranges. We are contemplating a transactional site but we’d need to do a complete relaunch.

Will you be attending any trade shows this season?
I will go to London Fashion Week, Pure, Coterie in New York and perhaps Magic in Las Vegas.
