My Yard in Bristol

Chosen by Karen Campbell, trade marketing manager at streetwear brand Fenchurch

My Yard, a single store in Bristol with a website, has really stuck with me since I first visited. The store offers a broad selection of clothes and great graphics and imagery in the interior design. It caters mainly for males and females aged from 15 to 30, but has pretty much something for everyone.

The store stocks some new, innovative pieces and seems to think outside the box regarding its brand mix, which is appealing. It offers a lot of clothes from designers I’ve never heard of, so it’s an exciting place in which to discover new names and this is where it really stands out. Its mix of brands includes Boxfresh and Humör, as well as its own label, My Yard, which collaborates with graphic designers.

The atmosphere is relaxed and the shop has a clean feel, allowing shoppers to browse at their leisure. It’s been open for only a few months but is already doing really well in the area. The co-owner, Jake Phillips, gets involved with the local scene, showing he embraces where he lives. It’s also a place where kids meet up with each other.
