Nicola Scott

Owner of contemporary womenswear indie Bunty & Co in Pocklington, East Yorkshire

Brands include Darling, H by Hudson, Maison Scotch, Nümph, Yumi

How is trade at the moment?

Slow, although I’ve noticed it pick up in the past few days. February is always really quiet and half the shop is still on Sale. We’re having our last clearance this weekend. Everything will be 70% off, which usually gets rid of most of it.

Which spring 11 collections are selling well? Maison Scotch is selling really well. It’s transitional through the seasons so it’s very good for this time of year and it’s very easy to wear. It’s mostly its jersey pieces that are selling well.

Which categories are selling best?

We’re doing very well with cardigans and knitwear in neutral colours.

How are you feeling about spring 11?

I’m a bit apprehensive. Spring is always a bit more worrying than autumn as it’s so dependent on the weather. We’ve been conscious about getting in lots of layering pieces.

Are you adding any new brands for autumn 11?

I’ll be topping up with short-order brands in season.
