Potassium in Marble Arch, London

Chosen by Vivienne Austin, director of swimwear brand Sea Sirens

Rather than shop fittings, Potassium uses modern furniture to showcase the product, which is merchandised by colour and interjected with props to encourage interaction. In the men’s area there is a CD listening station, which is used to promote emerging recording artists.

Womenswear continues downstairs, with body care products and books to browse while your friends are in the fitting rooms.

I actually don’t think the shop is in the ideal area. It took a gamble and became an anchor tenant in an area of London that was being redeveloped. But for five years it has kept on going, attracting destination customers seeking select brands, and residents and workers alike.

They stock a wide range of products from a select number of brands, which gives customers confidence about investing in the product, brand and store.

The store also supports art projects run by the Marylebone Association, Serpentine Gallery and the Free Art Fair.
